A course on the theoretical knowledge and practical tips for distributing humanitarian aid. This course is aimed at volunteers and the Red Cross staff; however, anyone interested may participate. Distributing humanitarian aid is a frequent activity of the Lithuanian Red Cross, and we continuously invite members of our community to join.
Distributing humanitarian aid is not merely a physical action. It is a process requiring significant responsibility, where particular attention must be given to planning, resource allocation, structure, assessment, communication, and other procedures. By becoming familiar with the stages, risks, functions, and teamwork aspects of distribution of humanitarian aid, you will gain confidence in the field.
Upon successfully completing the course, you should be able to answer the following questions:
* What is humanitarian aid, and what are the potential consequences of failing to provide humanitarian aid?
* What are the key stages of distribution of humanitarian aid, and how to prepare for them;
* How should one prepare for and anticipate potential risks in distribution of humanitarian aid;
* Why are teamwork and the evaluation process at the end of distribution important?
The course lasts 40–50 minutes. Since there is a substantial amount of information, you may take a break and resume from where you left off.
The training is divided into sections, and between sections, you will complete simple knowledge-check exercises.
Good luck!
